Celebrating World Art Day!

World Art Day is celebrated on 15 April each year to promote awareness of creative activity worldwide.  The date was chosen to coincide with the birthday of Leonardo da Vinci the inventor, drawer, painter, sculptor, architect, scientist, musician, mathematician, engineer, writer, anatomist, geologist, astronomist, botanist, historian and cartographer. World Population Day!

Use materials from the gapminder.org website to help your learners focus on World Population Day (11 July 2019). This video with Profesor Hans Rosling talks about world population growth and is part of a selection of videos and other varied resources your learners can use to research the topic further.  Gapminder.org provides many interactive graphics, videos and resources on other topics based on statistics related to the environment, energy, society, work and so on.  What will your learners find out about where they live? In July we celebrate Plastic Free July, a challenge started in Australia to help people learn to use less single-use plastic and become aware of their own plastic use.  This site has ideas on how to do this with your learners.  Which challenge will they take and how much will they reduce their single-use plastic consumption?
