Animals, real or representations, wild or domestic, were omnipresent in daily Egyptian life. A new exhibition, Animales y faraones, in the CaixaForum Madrid shows us the important role that animals played in ancient Egypt.
Animals were a major source of inspiration for a wide and rich variety of Egyptian art. Animales y faraones has nine themed sections and reconstructs the relationship between men and animals, nature, and the culture of ancient Egypt. More than 400 pieces demonstrate the importance of animals in daily life, agriculture, war, religious beliefs and funeral rites. Animales y faraones will be open until 23 August 2015
