Funeral for an Icelandic glacier

29/08/19
Watch this video with your learners about a funeral for the death of a 700-year-old glacier in Okjokull, Iceland, due to climate change. Okjokull is Iceland’s first glacier to be the victim of climate change and scientists warn that some 400 others on the island are also at risk. The mourners unveiled a bronze plaque with the inscription "A letter to the future," which they hope will raise awareness about the effects of climate change. What positive steps do your learners know about that we can take to help soften the effects of climate change? (Image taken from the Crux video on the youtube.com website)
