Just over a year ago, the Museo Nacional de Antropología in Madrid started a fascinating experimental project in collaboration with the Escuela de Arte nº 10. The aim was to work with children and to make the most of their creativity and ability to take a fresh look at the museum collections. Taking rites of passage as their inspiration, and in particular two costumes used in ceremonies in the Congo, the only limit was their imagination!
The children looked at the similarities and differences in the habits and way of life of our own culture and those from far away... They worked on fashion designs, videos, photography, interior design, displays, masks, body art, and much more. The exhibition is the result of this process and visitors will find an explosion of ideas, colour and creativity! The exhibition will be open until 18 September 2016 and you can find more information here
