The Centro José Guerrero is celebrating the artist’s work from 1950 – 1966 with the exhibition The Presence of Black
, currently on show at the Fundació Suñol in Barcelona.
The exhibition begins with Guerrero’s first experiments with abstraction which reveal a painter who was deeply interested in the possibilities of combining art and architecture. It then continues with the artist’s integration into Abstract Expressionism and finally ends with works from his return to his native Spain in 1965. The Presence of Black
will be open to the public until 5 September 2015.
